He was awarded the OBE (Officer of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2000 Queen's New Years Honors List for his services to drama.
He is an Associate of RADA.
He was the first choice for Dugeen (played by John Leeson) in Doctor Who: The Power Of Kroll but pulled out before rehearsals
Famous for his many radio readings & performances as well as spoken word tapes etc. In fact he & his wife run their own radio production company, Jarvis & Ayres Productions.
Was the first choice for Dr. Tom Latimer in Don't Wait Up but was not free so Nigel Havers won the job.
He is a frequent co-star of his wife Rosalind Ayres. In most of the productions in which they appear together, they play a married couple.
His father, Denys Harry Jarvis, died in 2006.
He has two sons, Toby and Oliver.
