Received the Nathan M. Pusey Young Alumni Achievement Award in 2001 from his alumnael, Lawrence University.
In June 2000 he was commissioned by Domino's Pizza founder Thomas S. Monaghan to compose an orchestral Mass in honor of a group of new chapels to be built on the grounds of the Domino's Farms office complex in Michigan
