Plot: A spin-out sequel to the popular Japanese thriller. This time it focuses on the character L. One case is sent his way in the form of a Thai boy who alone survived a deadly virus outbreak in his village. L gets another guest when 12-year-old girl Maki (Fukuda Mayuko, Little DJ) shows up on the doorstep. Both children are connected to an Ebola-influenza virus developed by Maki’s father which has been stolen by terrorists. With the terrorists hunting for Maki and threatening to unleash the virus, L is forced to leave his chair and venture out into the real world, both children in stow. The days tick down as L rushes to develop an antidote and catch the terrorists before time runs out.

«oo bad the film's really not that good, though to be honest, diehard fans of Matsuyama's popular take on L will likely not care that much. L: Change the World is neither groundbreaking nor noteworthy, and exists mainly as fan service for the people who can't get enough of the slouching, sweets-loving bishonen detective who outwitted the dastardly Light Yagami (Tatsuya Fujiwara) in those Death Note movies.»
«What is sorely missed is the multiple battle of wits against formidable characters with moral ambiguity thrown in for good effect, and the numerous twists and turns that tickle your braincells. »
«As you know Death Note fans are split into 3 categories, the master race of manga readers who god loves and watches over, the repentant anime goers though guilty of sin are on their way to salvation in god’s loving arms and then theres the filthy unwashed blasphemers who have only watched the Death Note movies “Death Note” & “Death Note: The Last Name”. And frankly speaking “L Change the world” is a failure in the eyes of all the 3 above mentioned category of people.»
