Ditto movie was released in 2000 year, four months earlier than popular sci-fi romance Il Mare with nearly the same subject. More than just a romantic story, Ditto serves as a revealing sketch of the lives and observations of young people from very different generations. Kim Ha Neul's So Eun lives in a politically uproarious time, backclothed by the democracy movement awaken in the nation's campuses. In letting the past and present intwine together, the movie transforms into a bittersweet essay of the eternal changes over the last decades, a rising will for the hero and the Korea they call homeland.
