Plot: Otokojuku is a private boys school where true men are made. First year students quickly indoctrinated into the school's idea of what it takes to be a real man by Drill Master Onihige's constant berating. Momotaro, proficient in both academics and martial arts becomes friends with an underachieving weakling named Hidemaro. Together, they survive their Otokojuku days and become close with their classmates.

Omito Date, former leader of the first-year students, plans his revenge against his former school. He is now leader of an evil army from rival Kanto Gogakuren school and fully intends on taking over Otokojuku. The Otokojuku principle, Heihachi Edajima, will not allow personal vendettas on school grounds, so the battle has to be taken elsewhere.

Featured reviews for

Be a Man! Samurai School
Nippon Cinema, by kevin source:
«Don’t expect a constant stream of individual gags and clever dialogue à la Cromartie High. This one is more of a straight spoof, mixing aspects of manga-style samurai with delinquent high school brawler clichés and WWII-era Japanese nationalism—all to exaggerated levels.»
The Toronto J-Film Pow-Wow., by by Matthew Hardstaff source:
«It is probably the last film I would have expected Tak Sakaguchi to make, and it is by far the most enjoyable debut of a martial artist. It’s frickin’ hilarious. Utterly ridiculous, yes, but hilarious.»
Naked Lunch Radio, by Daniel Moscovici source:
«Overall, this movie is entertaining but so extremely cheesy that you end up maybe more laughing at the movie rather then the point that the movie is trying to make. But it’s a movie worth seeing in fantasia. These fans are very forgiving and appreciate this corniness but it’s an easily forgettable movie.»
