«Grappling with issues of redemption, Bangkok Dangerous is a worthy attempt to add an emotional dimension to the standard bullet play that characterises most action movies.»
Time Out Londonsource:
«The twin brother directors have come up with at least two potential genre classic sequences: a hit on a HK subway train, and another in a Japanese restaurant in Bangkok, where Kong is accompanied by the ghost of his late colleague. Seriously impressive.»
«From the opening frame, where a security camera capturing a washroom execution literally bleeds into an inventive display of the opening credits, the technically proficient style of the Pang Brothers' direction grabs you with its endless zeal. Multiple filters and film stocks are used to great effect, particularly during the film's numerous flashbacks (such as a scratchy 16mm glimpse at Kong's miserable childhood), putting even multimedia junkies like Oliver Stone ("Any Given Sunday") to shame.»
«“Bangkok Dangerous” is a very good first effort by the Pang brothers, and if their sophomore work on “The Eye” proves anything, it’s that these guys are headed for something big.»
