The Japan Times Online, By MARK SCHILLING source: http://search.japantimes.co.jp/cgi-bin/ff20081128a3.html
«Japan's latest disaster flick . . . is a disaster. ... If you are expecting samurai-like stoicism from Yuji and the other the male survivors, you are in for a letdown — they all fall into hysterics, which according to local, disaster-pic convention is proof of not their wimpishness but their feeling, human hearts.»
A Nutshell Review, by Stefan S source: http://anutshellreview.blogspot.com/2009/04/252-signal-of-life-252-sei~~~ri.html
«252: Signal of Life had moments where it could have struck a fine balance in presenting an action-packed flick if it could have tightened up some of the incessant repetition, and to have given itself enough time to explore the human dilemma of self-preservation versus the call of duty. Instead it became an unnecessary comedy filled with cardboard yet invincible characters.»

«252 Signal of Life would make a great recruitment film or a company outing event (albeit the incorrectness). The message is undeniably wholesome and reaffirming for those who are involved with civil service. It’s a pity that this film flounders at delivering this message by forcing machismo in the most laughable manner down the audience throat.»
